Life is craft. By the tender age of 14 his brother taught him how to drive a car. From his french father he learned how to sail a boat and to catch fish, his german mother showed him how to prepare them into a great meal. Extensive travels along the Panamericana propelled him into a life of filmmaking and made him a frenglishspanish-speaker.
       

During his studies at the renowned Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in Ludwigsburg he received a Kodak award for the Best Cinematography in a short and a scholarship to attend the famous Budapest Cinematography Masterclass - hosted by the Hollywood masters Laszlo Kovacs & Vilmos Zsigmond


At the German Film Critics Association Awards he was nominated for Best Cinematography for the award-winning feature AGE OF THE CANNIBALS (Zeit der Kannibalen), directed by Johannes Naber. He was twice nominated at the German Cinematography Awards - for the documentary STORYTELLING MAN and the short THE WORLD IS YOURS. Last year at the German TV Awards, he got a Best Cinematography nomination for the Grimme Award nominated feature DIE HEIMSUCHUNG.

The movie CAVEMAN, written & directed by Laura Lackmann and produced by Constantin Film, based on Rob Becker´s New York Broadway comedy play DEFENDING THE CAVEMAN, was released in the cinemas earlier this year.
Recently in September 2023 he was nominated again at the German TV Awards for Best Cinematography for the MiniSeries "Der Schatten".
